My name is David Williams, and I'm the lone Republican running for an at-large seat on the Raleigh city council. I'm facing four Democrats and one unaffiliated candidate and I like my chances! I am running on an unabashedly pro-liberty and less government platform, and invite you to peruse my campaign web site to learn more about me and my positions. I'd very much appreciate your help in your role as precinct volunteer and of course your personal endorsement and support. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you, and can be reached at either my mobile or office number. Regards,

State Begins Another ‘Super Spending Spree’

Raleigh – North Carolina’s House Democrats voted together, Monday, to put their final stamp on a third straight “super” increase in state spending, far beyond the rate of inflation and population increase. For the first time state spending will exceed $20 Billion – a 9.5 percent increase over last year’s budget.
Republicans in both the House and Senate voted not to go along with a conference report that was worked out behind closed doors by a small group of Democrats.

Breaking News.........9:38am eastern - from the desk of David Robinson, Chairman of The Wake County Republican Party - The calls made to our Representatives worked!! The bill in the North Carolina House, titled the “Presidential Electors by District” (S353),was pulled from the House floor yesterday and sent back to committee. If the Democrat leadership had had its way, North Carolina would no longer have awarded its 15 electoral votes in presidential elections to the winner of the statewide popular vote. Instead, each congressional district would award one electoral vote based on the vote in the presidential election within that congressional district. The remaining two electoral votes would then be awarded to the statewide popular vote winner. This would have forever weakened North Carolina’s voice in presidential elections. Your calls made a difference. Many thanks. We, of course, still have much work to do but I wanted you to know that important victories can and do occur - with your help. Best regards. DSR David S.
